Assessment, monitoring and evaluation are important components of NAFA’s project application process.
NAFA executive officers travel to Nepal each year, at their own expense, to assess prospective applications and to monitor the implementation of projects previously approved by the NAFA management committee.
Applicants need to complete an application form and contribute either cash or in-kind to each project. Applications are assessed against criteria by a subcommittee of the NAFA management committee before a rated summary analysis of the application is submitted to the committee for consideration.
For larger or more complex projects, formal evaluations are undertaken by NAFA executive officers. Some of these evaluations have been undertaken by social work students from the University of Queensland, on placement in Nepal and supervised by NAFA’s Research and Evaluation Officer.
